Dr. Abu Farzan Mitul is an American Bangladeshi academician and researcher. He completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University. He received an MSc in Optical Science and Engineering degree (majoring in Photonics) from the University of New Mexico. Prior to joining Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) as a graduate student, he worked at the Center for Advanced Photovoltaics of South Dakota State University (SDSU). At the Center for Advanced Photovoltaics of South Dakota State University (SDSU), he worked on the development of several advanced photovoltaic devices. He is an active researcher at the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) which is a U.S. national laboratory under the Department of Energy Office of Fossil Energy.
He worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) and taught courses as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), USA. He has been involved in the teaching of Electrical Engineering courses and led the Simulation Language Lab. He was the Lab coordinator of Simulation, Modelling, and Hardware Laboratory of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology. He supervised students to work on semiconductor devices and solar cell technology.
