Abstract
We have achieved an all-solid-state oscillation of an ultraviolet laser that is convenient to move, easy to maintain, and operates efficiently. The developed laser effectively treats autoimmune skin diseases such as vitiligo, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis. The excimer laser, which uses a mixed gas as the gain medium, is a representative ultraviolet laser developed for treating skin diseases. However, issues of corrosion and durability due to gas discharge have been continuously discussed, and the high maintenance costs have become a highlighted disadvantage. To address these problems, we have developed an efficient 308nm ultraviolet laser using all-solid-state laser technology. We believe that an all-solid-state ultraviolet laser that operates at high output energy, has a high repetition rate, and is easy to maintain will be able to pioneer a new clinical area for medical lasers.
