Abstract
This work details laser control techniques for the Finisar S7500 CW tunable laser. Specifically we demonstrate how to accurately set and tune the output frequency for different ITU channels without a wavemeter for reference.

I am a technical staff member in the Advanced Lasercom Systems and Operations Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. I am focused on free-space laser communication (lasercom) at the system, sub-system, and device level. I have a PH.D from MIT EECS department with a technical degree in applied physics. This degree has taught me the skills to think critically about problems and synthesize solutions. My primary expertise is in laser communication, optics, metrology, simulations, data analysis, and signal processing - especially in Matlab. My work is highlighted within MIT News with a successful publication record and two patents. I am interested in converting new technologies into commercial products.
