Inkjet printed electro-adhesive pads
This presentation reports on the performance comparison of polymeric thin-film electro-adhesive pads realized by inkjet printing by using different materials and procedures, and having different sizes. After a detailed description of the considered pad specimens and of their manufacturing, experimental results are presented which highlight that by a proper combination of materials and manufacturing procedures, adhesion shear stresses in the order of 150 kPa can be achieved very reliably with an activation voltage of 3 kV, and that this performance is almost independent of the pad size.
