Profile Summary

Prof. Yasser Kadah is presently a Professor of Biomedical Engineering with the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Biomedical Engineering Department at Cairo University in 1989 and 1992 respectively. He received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1997. He worked as a research assistant with the Department of Radiology, University of Minnesota Medical School in 1996-1997 and as a post-doctoral fellow at the Center of Magnetic Resonance Research at the University of Minnesota in 1998. He became an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Cairo University from 1998 to 2003. He also worked during the same period as the director of research and development at IBE technologies, Egypt. He also was a Research Associate with the Biomedical Imaging Technology Center at the Biomedical Engineering Department, Emory University and Georgia Tech, from December 2002 till July 2004. He is was a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Cairo University for many years and the former Department Chair. Along his career, he received several awards and recognitions including the record for highest undergraduate GPA in the department of Biomedical Engineering at Cairo University, the Islamic Development Bank Merit Scholarship (1993-1996), winning the E.K. Zaviosky stipend from the international society of magnetic resonance in imaging in 2002, awarded the 2005 National Encouragement Award from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Egypt, as well as the Award for Best Professor in Biomedical Engineering from the Cairo University Faculty Club in 2007. He was also selected to receive the 2008 Scientific Distinction Award from Cairo University. He is a Senior Member of IEEE since 2003 and a Senior Member of SPIE since 2015. . He is also a member of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
