During my graduate studies my concentration was on the development of an imaging technique that allowed the real-time mapping of solid tumor margin for surgical use. This project made use of thermography, light absorption, heat transfer modeling and image processing. Since the completion of my dissertation I have made a shift into optical material testing including laser damage threshold (LDT) testing, scattering measurements and polarization transmission measurements. Most recently I have been involved in characterizing random subwavelength antireflective surface structures (rARSS) on fused silica substrates.
