SPIE SPIE Smart Structures + Nondestructive Evaluation 2020

During the forum, participants from the global photonics community will watch presentations and read proceedings papers. There is also an opportunity to post questions for author response. The forum offers a rich exchange of research and advancements, made accessible via the SPIE Digital Library.

Below please find answers to frequently asked questions. Additional questions? Contact us:

How does the Digital Forum work?

    Navigating the Forum

Yes. Registration is required to access presentations and proceedings papers.

Go to the conferences page and browse the online conference program, consisting of 9 conferences. Click on a topic of interest to view individual paper listings.

Each session with a Digital Forum presentation and/or proceedings paper is indicated by a grey bar that says “Watch this presentation and discuss in the Digital Forum on the SPIE Digital Library”.

The link takes you to a detailed page for that session where you can watch the presentation or read the proceedings paper and post questions to the authors.

All sessions accepted into the original SPIE Smart Structures + NDE 2020 program are listed. Not all authors were able to provide a presentation or proceedings papers to the Digital Forum. Some manuscripts are still being submitted for the proceedings, which will be available 10-14 days after the forum ends.

Please disregard dates and times associated with conferences and papers, these are elements of the live in-person meeting that we cannot disable.

All presentations that are part of the forum are available anytime 27 April - 8 May. Watch at your own pace and on your own schedule!

    27 April - 8 May 2020

We very much want all poster presentations to participate in the SPIE Smart Structures + NDE Digital Forum. We ask poster presenters to follow the same instructions as oral presenters on our upload page to recorded presentation (audio and PowerPoint).

Yes. Whether you were accepted as an oral or poster presenter, your paper will be published in the conference proceedings and on the SPIE Digital Library.

We will publish your proceedings manuscripts and make them available during Digital Forum week if received by 17 April. Otherwise, the extended manuscript due date of 18 May 2020 applies.

At this time, we can only accept presentations that have an audio narration.

The process, format, and functionality are the same.

Once received and approved, all presentations will be included in the SPIE Digital Library, organized by conference proceedings section, and available through search. After the week of the live Digital Forum, presentations will continue to be available to subscribers and subscribing institutions to the SPIE Digital Library.

Please contact your SPIE Conference Proceedings Coordinators: Megan Artz to coordinate requests for late submissions.
