Coronavirus and Traveling to Tokyo, Japan
SPIE is closely monitoring the international travel situation with regard to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare.
On 19 February, the CDC put in place "Special Precautions for High-Risk Travelers" to suggest that those with underlying health concerns not travel to Japan at this time. The duration of this notice is unknown and may be lifted prior to this event taking place in November.
Following this guidance, SPIE Future Sensing Technologies in Tokyo is scheduled to take place as planned.
SPIE is taking precautions to ensure our event facilities are adequately stocked with hand sanitizing dispensers and that facilities are on high alert to maintain a hygienic environment and general cleanliness.
SPIE will always strive to provide a safe environment and world-class event experience for all our attendees. We encourage you to participate in our events as scheduled.
We will continue to monitor the CDC and WHO guidelines and the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare and will update this page as needed.
