Dear members of the Electronic Imaging community,

We want to let you know about some important changes that will affect the organizing structure of Electronic Imaging beginning with the 2016 meeting.

The Electronic Imaging Symposium partnership between IS&T and SPIE has allowed us to pursue our collective goals to bring communities together and to promote imaging-related research. However, the partnership structure creates some administrative challenges. As a result, SPIE has decided to withdraw from this joint venture at the conclusion of the 2015 event; IS&T will continue to sponsor and manage the Symposium.

The success and longevity of the EI Symposium is a testament to the talent and dedication of all the volunteer leaders, from both IS&T and SPIE, and the continuing significance of the EI conference topics. We thank all of you who have volunteered on behalf of the event for your hard work and dedication.

The 2015 Electronic Imaging meeting will move forward with the full support of both Societies. In 2016 and beyond, IS&T and SPIE will continue to independently serve the community with EI and other imaging-related technical conferences and educational products. We welcome any questions you may have.
