Research on optical countermeasure of low-light-level night vision device by using near infrared laser

Abstract

Along with development of modern photoelectric technology, the low-light-level night vision technology has greatly expanded the observation ability of people, which is applied in military and common field. The low-light-level night vision device is an important photoelectric equipment for night vision. The long-distance optical countermeasure against low-light-level night vision system can be realized by using near-infrared laser. In this work, the response characteristics of the low-light-level night vision instrument to near infrared laser is studied experimentally. The low-light-level night vision can be interfered and blinded in optics with near infrared laser at 808 nm exposing. The optical interference effect is anylised with different laser power and repetition rate. The interference phenomena of the laser exposing low-light-level night vision device and the optical interference saturation threshold are obtained. Results show that the optical interference of the low-light-level night vision device is related to the average power of the laser. When the laser power density is nearly 1 μ w/cm2 level, the effective optical interference to the low-light-level night vision device can be realized.

Biography Sensen Li received the B.S., M.S. and the Ph.D. degrees in physical electronics from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2016. He is Engineer of Science and Technology Electro-optical Information Security Control Laboratory in Academy of Opto-Electronics of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation since 2016. His research interests include high poewr laser and its beam quality impoving, mid-infrared semiconductor laser and its applications. He has over 50 publications in laser technology. Hi is an editorial board member of "Electric-Optic Technology Application" magazine.
