William E. Smith

Bill is an experienced software developer, marketer and software financier. Bill is on the Board of CardioComm Solutions Inc. a leader in Cardiology Solutions, and the company that he founded in 1989.

Bill has a strong passion for all things relating to Astrobiology and presented a paper at SPIE 2013 in San Diego on "Life is a Cosmic Phenomenon". This paper was published 10 Oct 2013 : http://spie.org/x648.html?product_id=2046862

In 2000 Bill joined Microsoft and served in Malaysia, UK and Paris where he eventually became EMEA Finance Industry Marketing Manager. Previous to this, Bill founded a healthcare company, CardioComm Solutions, Inc. (TSX:EKG) which is now 25 years old and a world leader in remote ECG management.

In 2005 Bill co-authored “Business Diagnostics 2005” .
In 1995 Bill was nominated as Canadian Entrepreneur of the Year.

Bill was a guest speaker at Seybold’s first “Digital World” conference in Beverley Hills in 1991 where he spoke on the future of the new digital highway and first proposed that Pac Bell should lead this development. Bill proudly describes how this was reported in Wired Magazine - still his favorite magazine.
