Edward James is a veterinary surgeon, optical research scientist and final year Medical Imaging PhD student at University College London. His veterinary career has involved working in Europe’s largest veterinary tertiary referral hospital, with exposure to the Diagnostic Imaging and Neurology and Neurosurgery referral services. In addition to completing an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Edward has also gained a master’s degree in Medical Imaging for his work on the computational modelling of diffuse optical tomography sensitivity kernels, as well as undertaking several industrial biomedical optics placements. His PhD research is centred around using digital holographic techniques to develop and model novel diffuse optical modalities to measure cerebral blood flow parameters.
