Thierry Sarnet is currently (2012-2013) working as a Visiting Professor at Harvard in the Mazur Group.
He received a MS in Optics in 1990, a French Doctorate and a European PhD in 1995 on UV Laser-Matter Interaction (Aix-Marseille University, University of Heraklion, Crete and University of Liverpool, UK). After working for the French Defense (1996) and NSF-NASA at the University of Minneapolis (Chemical Engineering and Material Science Department, 1997-1999) he held a position in Industry for Global Graphics Co. to develop new Laser Engraving Systems for the Graphic Arts Industry. He joined the CNRS in 2001 at the Institute of Fundamental Electronics (IEF, Orsay) to work on laser doping of semiconductors. Since 2005 he is a permanent senior Researcher at the LP3 Lab. in Marseille, France; working on various laser applications for the micro and nanotechnologies.
