Dr. Nagma Vohra

Nagma Vohra received her BTech degree in electronics and communication engineering from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, India, in 2014 and her MTech degree in communication engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India, in 2017. She recently graduated with her PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA, in August 2021. She has a well-rounded background in electromagnetic field experiments and modeling, specifically, focused on biomedical application. Her Ph.D. dissertation focuses on the margin assessment of freshly excised breast cancer tumors based on their electrical response to the terahertz signal using imaging and spectroscopy measurement and simulation techniques. She also has proficiency in electromagnetic modeling and simulations using Finite-Difference Time-Domain methods. Additionally, She has good experience in antenna design modeling and over-the-air passive testing in an an anechoic chamber (Compact Antenna Test Range) using a PNA network analyzer. During her Master’s she had the opportunity to join the Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS), Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) of India at Bengaluru, Karnataka, as an intern for one year. Her work there was focused on modeling and simulating an 8x8 cavity-backed slot active phased array antenna, using HFSS, at X-band frequencies for the airborne SAR radars.
She is currently employed with Qorvo Inc. as an Antenna Design Engineer.
