Profile Summary

Dr. Mark F. Spencer is a Senior Physicist at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Directed Energy Directorate (AFRL/RD) and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Optical Sciences and Engineering at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), within the Department of Engineering Physics. He currently serves as the Directed Energy Staff Specialist at Headquarters US Indo-Pacific Command as the first-ever liaison from AFRL/RD. Mark received his PhD degree in Optical Sciences and Engineering from AFIT in 2014. In addition to being a Fellow of SPIE (the international society for optics and photonics) and a Senior Member of Optica (formerly the Optical Society of America), he is an active member of the Directed Energy Professional Society and the Military Sensing Symposia.
