Senior Researcher, Institute of Steppe.

Dr. Mjachina has deserved a number of personal scholarships and prizes for young scientists, including the Diploma and the grant of Presidium of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences named after L.D.Shevyakova, three Governor's Awards, the Governor's Scholarship, Diplomain competition "Environmental Technology", etc. Her scientific activity was also acknowledged by special certificates of the Presidium of Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Research interests are:
Remote sensing data, Processing and Interpretation relation to the study of landscapes, including steppe lands disturbed by oil&gas development; the condition of the landscape after fires, the condition of protected natural landscapes. Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Impact Risk Assesment, Environmental sustainability, Environmental Performance, Spatial Analysis, Spatial Statistics, Environmental Analysis, Environmental Awareness.

Software: GIS (ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, Quantum GIS Desktop, Global Mapper, Fragstats); Remote sensing (ENVI, MultiSpec); Google Earth, SASPlanet; Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop; Microsoft Office.
