Jonas Kuhn is a Principal Investigator at the Institute for Astronomy at ETH Zurich, with an independent research fellowship awarded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF, Ambizione grant). After completing his PhD in Photonics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL), he was awarded a mobility postdoctoral fellowship from the SNSF, and stayed at Caltech-NASA/JPL from 2012 to 2015 within the lab of Dr. Serabyn, where he worked on high-contrast imaging through vortex coronagraphy and nulling interferometry. His expertise covers instrumental, observational and data reductions aspects of high-contrast imaging, as well as nulling interferometry and digital holography. His is currently conducting a laboratory research effort on adaptive coronagraphy using spatial light modulators, while commissioning a vector vortex coronagraph for the new SCExAO instrument of the Subaru Telescope. Dr. Kuhn is a Senior Member of SPIE.
