I have completed my PhD dissertation in Biomedical Engineering at the Bio-Optics Lab, Yonsei University, South Korea, entitled “Single-Channel Stereoscopic Video Imaging Modality Based on Transparent Rotating Deflector”, and I graduated in February 2017. In addition, I have accomplished an additional 1-year PhD course of Medical Physics at Tehran University of Medical Science (TUMS), Iran, followed by an 18-month experience of postdoctoral research fellow at Research Center for Science and Technology in Medicine, working on optical microscopy and retinal imaging.
My interdisciplinary research focuses on developing a novel stereoscopic imaging modality that I applied on microscopy, endoscopy, and ophthalmology devices. In this research, I suggest a new approach in stereo imaging using one camera and single lens channel under the supervision of Prof. Byungjo Jung. I have developed the first high-magnification high-resolution optical stereo microscope using a single camera and a high N.A. microscope objective. Implementing my method during postdoctoral period, I have also developed the stereo fundus camera to improve depth perception in retinal imaging.
Recently, I have participated as the adviser in a PhD thesis to develop a low cost confocal microscope for in-situ imaging, as well as in a master degree thesis on efficiency of light therapy in moderate and mild depression in pregnant women. Apart from my primary research in the field, I have also worked on various research topics, such as image processing and reconstruction, fabrication of optical tissue phantom, imaging with OCT, micro-particle trapping by optical tweezers, and low-level light therapy.
