InP-based photodetector technologies for datacom applications (Invited Paper)

The invited talk provides an overview on recent developments of InP-based photodetectors for datacenter applications. The two approaches of monolithic pre-amplification and WDM de-multiplexing will be discussed. The PIC integration of SOAs and AWGs will be high-lighted in the context of the two approaches. A special focus will be on the polarization independent reception of data signals, being mandatory for the application in datacenters.
