Peter So Hot Topics presentation: Nonlinear Microscopy
Presented at SPIE Photonics West 2015
In this Hot Topics presentation, Peter So of MIT delves into sophisticated statistical methods in nonlinear microscopy. So explains how to come up with a maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) through analysis with multiple measurements from multiple imaging and microscopy techniques.
Peter So holds a Bachelor's degree in physics and mathematics from Harvey Mudd College and completed his PhD in physics at Princeton University. He continued his postdoctoral research at the Laboratory for Fluorescence Dynamics at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Professor So joined MIT as assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1996. Since 2000, he has also served as associate director of the Whitehead-MIT Bioimaging Center.
The So laboratory at MIT creates novel optical imaging, manipulation, and fabrication technologies on the microscopic level to advance biological sciences and to improve medical practices.
