Charles Norton: CubeSats generating excitement for lower costs, quick turnaround, creative research

CubeSats can provide benefits such as higher spatial and temporal coverage for Earth remote sensing.

Charles D. Norton is a Principal Technologist and the Program Manager Associate for the Advanced Information Systems Technology (AIST) and In-Space Validation of Earth Science Technologies (InVEST) Program for NASA's Earth Science Technology Office (ESTO) at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

He is also the JPL Engineering and Science Directorate Formulation Lead for Small Satellites. He is a recipient of numerous NASA awards for new technology and innovation including the JPL Lew Allen Award and the NASA Exceptional Service Medal.

Norton holds a BSE from Princeton University with MS and PhD degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
