Nishant Mohan: OCT a model for industry and academia collaboration

Developed in the early 1990s, optical coherence tomography has grown into a nearly billion-dollar industry.

Nishant Mohan has led Product Management at Wasatch Photonics (Logan, UT) since 2013. He has actively participated in research, development and commercialization aspects of imaging technologies including optical coherence tomography (OCT) for over a decade. He also serves on the standing committee for Engineering, Science and Technology Policy at SPIE. He is a judge for the annual Prism Awards for innovation in optics and photonics. Prior to joining Wasatch Photonics, Mohan was part of the research and development team of Bausch + Lomb Inc. (Rochester, NY) and a research fellow at Harvard Medical School. He received his doctorate in Biomedical Engineering at Boston University and a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati.
