Laser matter interaction is a fascinating research field: my activity developed in parallel with the laser source developments, form simple interaction experiments and plasma structures through ultra short laser pulse effects, high fluence and /or high power laser processing, and more recently, functional material thin films growth (ferroelectric heterostructures and nanostructures, piezoelectric thin films) for applications in sensors and actuators. In recent years I've had the opportunity to obtain international projects which allows the acquisition of modern equipment for production and characterization of smart structures: lasers, complex deposition chambers, radiofrequency generator, atomic force microscope, dielectric spectroscopy bridge, x-ray diffractometer). This opened new opportunities for working on exciting topics such as biocompatible thin films, Matrix Assisted Pulsed Laser Evaporation (MAPLE) and Laser Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT) for biological material manipulation (cells, bacteria). I also had the great satisfaction of creating a research group which contains at present nine enthusiastic young researchers and PhD students.
