Student Author Conference Support

The Society offers a small number of conference registration fee waivers to eligible and selected SPIE Student Members who are authors, and plan to present and publish an accepted paper at an SPIE meeting that offers the fee waivers.

• One conference registration fee which is not transferrable.

The applicant

• Must be a current Student Member of SPIE

• Must be a full-time student author in a high school, undergraduate, or graduate program

• Must have an accepted paper

• Must submit your manuscript to be published in the proceedings of SPIE

• Must be available to present at an SPIE meeting

• Must submit your complete application by the deadline

Please note: Student authors are eligible to receive one fee waiver per calendar year. Multiple fee waivers per year will not be awarded. Students are not eligible if they have completed their PhD, ScD, or MD program.

• Fee waivers will be selected through a lottery process.

• Applicants will be notified approximately 2-3 weeks after the application deadline.

• Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

• Not all SPIE meetings offer student author conference support; see list below to see which meetings have open applications.

• Applications open after we notify authors of acceptance and placement in the conference program.

• If you are eligible to apply, locate the corresponding meeting below (where you will be presenting your paper), click on the application link, and complete your application before the deadline.
