Join an SPIE Committee and develop strategic policy for the Society, and make recommendations to the Board of Directors. The collective talents of our Members make SPIE a powerful force in the scientific community.

Advocacy allows you to become informed about public policy issues in the science community, get involved in the legislative process, and help shape US technology policy. Volunteer to make congressional visits, be part of export control working groups, or work with the National Photonics Initiative.

Volunteer your time and skills with us and help the continued growth of optics and photonics. The SPIE community represents a wide range of expertise spanning every facet of the science of light, and includes well-established and recognized leaders in the field from academia, government, and industry. Sharing this knowledge by volunteering with the Society is the true engine of SPIE.
