Exhibitor Demonstration - "Transforming Optical Structure Technology Through Innovative System Integration"
PLX Inc's Senior Optical and Production Engineer, Martin Rost, will be presenting PLX Inc's latest technology - M.O.S.T.™ on Thursday, February 6 11:00am at Demo Area 2 (Hall EF).

For the past 60 years PLX has been at the forefront of developing high-quality monolithic optics that can withstand and perform under the harshest environmental conditions and maintain their accuracy over time.

Founded in 1955 as Precision Lapping and Optical Company, PLX began by producing highly accurate optical domes, lenses, prisms, and mirrors with its proprietary technologies and manufacturing capabilities.

In 1970 PLX invented the hollow retroreflector, which placed us at the heart of innovation for the NASA manned and unmanned space exploration missions of the era.

In the 1990s PLX leveraged its space heritage, patented technologies and proprietary processes to develop targeting systems that satisfied the most exacting defense specifications.

Coming into the 21st century, PLX developed M.O.S.T.™ (Monolithic Optical Structure Technology), opening up an array of applications like Boresighting and Interferometry, for the most flight-critical military and space programs.

Engineers save significant time initially when integrating M.O.S.T.™ into a system, since it is a solid pre-aligned block. In addition, the long-term maintenance savings are enormous. Because we’ve permanently aligned this extremely stable assembly, you will never need to adjust it!

PLX has developed M.O.S.T.™ based upon their mature, proprietary optical technology. This technology makes it possible to integrate different glass types and exotic materials, such as KBr, ZnSe, CaFl2 and Spinel, into a M.O.S.T.™ assembly. This is especially useful when the system has to perform in broadband light applications, such as FTIR. This integration results in a “sandwich structure,” or solid box-like assembly that not only exhibits exceptional thermal and mechanical stability but also lasts indefinitely.
