Head Mounted Displays (HMDs) have undergone significant evolution over the past decade, moving from heavy, unwieldy systems to streamlined, easy-to-wear devices. The evolution has been driven by technological advancements in both refractive and diffractive optics. Key challenges remain in creating scalable, affordable HMD systems, and simulation is expected to play a critical role in addressing these challenges.
