SPIE Smart Structures + Nondestructive Evaluation - New Digital Forum

Digital Forum SS20

SPIE Smart Structures + NDE Digital Forum | 27 April - 1 May 2020

SPIE Smart Structures + NDE Digital Forum is a newly launched version of SPIE Smart Structures + NDE 2020, re-envisioned into a convenient, high-quality, and timely method to share emerging research and technology advances throughout the photonics community. There is no cost to register for the Smart Structures + NDE Digital Forum and view the presentations.

Watch presentations on your own schedule during the Forum week, post questions to authors, and engage with your colleagues. Authors will respond to questions received through the platform.

Mark your calendar. The scientific community needs to keep dialog and information dissemination open, even under times when we cannot meet face-to-face for valuable discussions and debate. The SPIE community looks forward to your participation.

Registration details for the SPIE Smart Structures + NDE Digital Forum will be available soon.

What is the Digital Forum?

SPIE Digital Forums, like our in-person conferences, offer a rich exchange of research and advancements, made accessible via the SPIE Digital Library online platform. Together we can move scientific discussion forward during this time when we cannot meet face-to-face.

The upload site for the SPIE Digital Library platform allows oral and poster authors from the Smart Structures + NDE conference program to share their self-recorded presentations (audio and PowerPoint).

During the live phase of the forum, participants from the global photonics community are encouraged to engage with the authors' works by watching presentations and posting questions and comments. Authors will respond to questions throughout the week.

Why are we holding a Digital Forum?

While we had to cancel the in-person gathering due to the global COVID-19 health crisis, we know how important it is for our community to report the advances many had hoped to present at SPIE Smart Structures + NDE. To continue the information exchange and networking that our community values and relies on, we've created a new method to meet this need.

We are in process of refunding or crediting registration fees for SPIE Smart Structures + NDE , and we are actively reaching out to the community to participate in this free event instead. Scientists and engineers in optics and photonics are making great progress, so please plan to participate and continue to drive breakthroughs in this field.
