Federico Rosei |
SPIE Senior Member Federico Rosei has been honored as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, in recognition of his work in applied nanomaterials. This election by one's peers is the highest honor bestowed on a Canadian academic in the arts, letters, and sciences.
Professor Rosei is being honored for his pioneering work on advanced materials, which has enormous technological potential in electronics, photonics, life sciences and energy conversion, the INRS press release noted. Known worldwide for his work on nanomaterials, he is the first person to hold the UNESCO Chair on Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion, Saving and Storage, which fosters scientific exchange with developing countries.
A professor and director at the INRS Énergie Matériaux Télécommunications Research Centre, Université du Québec, Rosei is known for his efforts in developing advanced and smart materials and is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions.
