Call is open for Berthold Leibinger Laser Innovation Prize; SPIE members on jury panel

Developers and researchers in the field of laser technology are invited to apply for the Berthold Leibinger Innovationspreis. Deadline for applications and nominations is 31 December 2013. The international prize is awarded by the non-profit foundation Berthold Leibinger Stiftung every other year for innovations pertaining to the application of lasers and laser devices.

Awards will be presented 26 September 2014 in Ditzingen, Germany.

Among jurors for the 2014 prizes are SPIE Life Member Ursula Keller (ETH Zurich), Member Hans-Peter Berlien (Elisabeth Klinik) and Industry and Market Strategist Steve Anderson. A complete list of jurors is on the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung website.

The Berthold Leibinger Stiftung was founded by Berthold Liebinger in 1992 to promote science, culture, church and charity, and biennially awards the Innovation Prize and Future Prize in accord with its mission for science. Leibinger was formerly managing partner and chairman of the managing and supervisory boards of laser and laser system developer TRUMPF.
