    SPIE Fellow Julie Bentley nominated for 2014 Technology Woman of the Year

    SPIE Fellow Julie Bentley, an associate professor at the Institute of Optics at University of Rochester and the president of Bentley Optical Design, is one of nine nominees for 2014 Technology Woman of the Year award, given by Digital Rochester.

    The winner will be announced during an awards breakfast on 24 April at Casa Larga Vineyards in Fairport, New York.

    Bentley is on the program committee for Current Developments in Lens Design and Optical Engineering at SPIE Optics + Photonics 2014, and will also present her research on "The role of aberration analysis in modern optical design with a focus on zoom lenses" at the conference.

    She is the co-author of the "Field Guide to Lens Design," published by SPIE Press in 2012. 

    Digital Rochester's mission is to strengthen and increase the greater Rochester area's technology community through education and relationship development.

    Any woman who works with data, processes, implementation, and support of information systems, including women working in optics and engineering, can be nominated for the Technology Woman of the Year award.
