Angular and Polarization Characteristics of Metal Holographic Diffraction Gratings Working in Total Internal Reflection

Paper Abstract

Investigation is made on holographically recorded metal diffraction gratings with various periods, the results being compared to those from an etalon grating, fabricated by photolithographic methods. A strong dependence of the diffraction efficiency on the angle of incidence and on light polarization angle for zero and plus-one order in the region of total internal reflection is observed.
