Digital Generation Of Stereoscopic Perspective Scenes

Paper Abstract

Pairs of digital images have been generated for stereoscopic viewing. The images simulate perspective views from a selected observation point, looking in a selected direction. The perspective scenes were generated from monoscopic digital image data plus grid elevation data. Stereoscopic scenes have been generated for both fixed and moving observation points, with motion simulated by 30 frames per second. The stereo scenes provide the observer with a strong stereoscopic impression when displayed using an electronic stereoscopic display.
