Paper Abstract
Reflected light with a grazing angle from a gear tooth surface is put into a hologram recording a standard surface. Deviation of reconstructed wavefront from the standard one gives a surface error, and is detected by a simple photodetector with a small pinhole and by the fringe scanning technique.
