Paper Abstract

By using holographic interferometry and speckle techniques we can measure deformation of diffusely reflecting surfaces with sensitivities related to laser wavelengths. Although these techniques use interference of diffusely reflected laser light and are similar to each other in optical arrangements, they are mutually complementary in various points. In this paper these relationships are discussed in view of fringe formations and recent advances using optoelectronic tools for practical applications.
