Paper Abstract
In the security field, a technique which can recognize human faces under various transitions of the scene situation is
requested. The recognition technique that uses 2-D image of the face might fail under various transitions of the scene
situation. We propose to use 3-D image measurement based on pattern projection methods. In this paper, first of all, the
principle and the achievement method of the proposal technique are explained. are explained. Next, the application to the
direction detection of 3-D faces is described. Finally, the 3-D face authentication for security or an access control is
described.
