Long-distance remote sensors for simultaneous measurement of strain and temperature based on multiwavelength fiber lasers

Paper Abstract

We investigate a simple and flexible multiwavelength light sources based on fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) and a tunable chirped FBG. Using a simple multiwavelength fiber laser configuration with a specialty FBG and a tunable chirped FBG, we readily achieved simultaneous multiwavelength fiber lasers with a high extinction ratio of more than 50 dB over a 50-km distance.
