Paper Abstract
Optical sensing has played an important role in medicine since the 1980s mainly thanks to the invasive capabilities and
unique performance of the optical fibres that have allowed measurements inside the human body, otherwise
impracticable. But optical fibres are also becoming more and more important for minimally invasive and not-invasive
applications.
