Paper Abstract
Multiferroic double-layer CoFe2O4-Pb(Zr0.53Ti0.47)O3 (PZT) composite films have been fabricated by the hybrid process:
pulsed-laser deposition (PLD) and sol-gel method. The CoFe2O4 (CFO) layer with different thicknesses was deposited on
the substrates by PLD, and then the PZT layer was prepared on the top of the CFO layer by the sol-gel process. X-ray
diffraction shows that there are no other phases but spinel CFO and perovskite PZT phases in the films. It is observed
that the composite films demonstrate good ferroelectric and magnetic properties simultaneously. The composite films for
the CFO layer of 120 nm are found to have the best ferroelectric property with the enhanced ferromagnetization.
