Cellular and extracellular effects of soft laser irradiation on an erythrocytes suspension

Paper Abstract

It is known that low intensity laser radiation of a number of spectral ranges influences essentially the living cell metabolism."2 However, primary mechanisms of the cell metabolism trigger as a response on the laser irradiation are unknown yet. Cellular and extracellular effect caused by He-Ne laser irradiation of a dilute human erythrocytes suspension are considered in this paper. Red cell deformability in a shear flow characterizing the property of an isolated cell, and the suspension refraction index, characterizing the whole system, are chosen as parameters which can manifest the soft laser irradiation effect.
