Phase-dependent energies of single-cycle analytical pulses

Paper Abstract

Calculations have been made on the phase dependence of energies of single-cycle pulses with different analytical profiles. For a phase offset of ? between the pulse and carrier, the normalized pulse energy can be expressed as {1 + F cos(2?) —Gsin(2?)} . Analytical expressions of F and G , in term of the ratio of the profile width to cycle period, have been derived for several analytical pulses. With the aid of these expressions the phase dependence of pulse energies have been discussed.
