Paper Abstract
Multilevel Secure (MLS) systems require mandatory access control (MAC) including a linear lattice (total order) for information flow security. This paper describes an architecture for MLS networking that provides for MAC through key distribution. Tradeoffs in different communication modes are described, with attendant mechanisms.
