Simulation of optical losses for slightly dispersed fibers

Paper Abstract

A new method for simulation of slightly dispersed fiber propagation losses is proposed. It takes into consideration the structure of inclusions with absorbing centers. As an example we investigate the optical losses of the single-mode fiber fabricated by modern technology when core and cladding are formed by precipitation from vapor and with absorbing impurities including hydroxyl.
