Paper Abstract

The neutron field around a POLLUX cask filled with nuclear waste was simulated by using a reduced model cask filed with a linear 252Cf source. MCNP transport calculations and Bonner sphere measurements were performed at different positions around the cask placed in various environments. The calculated and measured neutron spectral fluences are in remarkably good agrement.
