Fabrication for polymer microchannels with circular cross-section using photo-curable PDMS (Conference Presentation)

Paper Abstract

Research on hemodynamics has required narrow pipes called microchannels which mimic human blood vessels with Y-branch structures. However most of the conventional polymer microchannels have been fabricated by means of the imprint method, so in general, their cross-sectional shapes are square or rectangle. In this paper, photo-curable PDMS is applied to Mosquito method for fabrication of microchannel with circular cross section. Mosquito method is invested by us and is originally used for fabricating polymer optical waveguides with a circular core and various writing pattern. We confirmed straight microchannel and Y-branched microchannel. We also confirmed the function as a microchannel.
