Demystifying the origin of field-free spin-orbit torque switching (Conference Presentation)

Paper Abstract

We show that even for magnetic heterostructures with light transition metals such as Mo, deterministic switching can be realized if the Mo layer is deposited in an oblique way. Our results suggest that materials growth method can strongly affect the resulting SOT switching dynamics.
