Research on polarization-independent dispersion-shifted optical fiber

Paper Abstract

We had put forward a scheme using a large nonlinearity and polarization-independent dispersion-shifted optical fiber in the nonlinearity loop mirror as an all-optical switching. So that, we can neglect the effect of fluctuation of states of polarization of signal wave or switching pulse wave. The characteristic of polarization-independent optical fiber is discussed in detail. Such a fiber will have a very promising future.
