Paper Abstract

Photovoltaic energy is a good option for supplying low power embedded systems like sensors, communication modules or small computers, devices belonging now to the Internet of Things category. In direct sunlight, outside the buildings, available solar energy is more than enough and can be harvested even using low cost solar cells and panels. This paper focuses on measuring available photovoltaic energy inside buildings in different places and at different hours and establishing a mathematical model for it. Measurements are performed using various types of solar cells/panels.
