Paper Abstract

A general quantum theory of absorption due to the excitation ofphonons in optically anisotropio dielectric crystals have been consi- ered. Expressions for the imaginary part of the dielectric suscepti- bility tensor for the processes with an arbitrary number of phononsare given.
