Paper Abstract
Greatly enhanced high-speed modulation performance has been recently predicted in numerical calculations for a novel
injection-locking scheme involving a DBR or DFB master laser monolithically integrated with a unidirectional
semiconductor microring laser. In this work, we investigate the effect of light backscattering between the two
counterpropagating modes on high-speed modulation performance of strongly injection-locked unidirectional
semiconductor microring lasers.
